IT’S name means “pleasant place” in Gaelic, which sums up the charming village of Clunes perfectly.

The village has a warm and welcoming community of about 500 people and is both beautiful and well-resourced.

There is a primary school, a preschool, and a village hall with extensive grounds that is popular for children’s parties and fairs. The village has a general store, post office and butcher’s shop. There is a service station with an attached mechanic’s workshop (which has been in the same family for three generations) and car yard. Residents have access to super-fast ADSL2+ internet.

Clunes sits on the ridge overlooking the Eltham valley and on winter mornings looks out over a spectacular ocean of cloud as mist rises up through the valley.

The village is convenient to everywhere. Commuters can be at work, school or university at Lismore within 20 minutes of stepping out their front door. Bangalow, and the Pacific Highway leading north to Brisbane, is 10 minutes away, the beaches of Byron Bay are 25 minutes away and the facilities of Ballina are less than half an hour away.

The village has a nice mix of historic Federation-era homes and contemporary homes, offering something to suit everyone’s taste.

Clunes connects with Eltham, Bexhill, Eureka, Federal, Rosebank, Corndale, Dorroughby, Dunoon, Binna Burra, Bangalow, Nashua, Booyong, Pearces Creek, McLeans Ridges, Wollongbar, Alstonville, and Lismore.
