WITH its vibrant community and garden-like atmosphere, The Channon is one of regional NSW’s best-kept secrets.
This small village, only 20 minutes from Lismore and close to the spectacular Nightcap National Park and beautiful Protester Falls, has a serene park-like feel that contrasts nicely with the festival atmosphere created by its popular monthly markets and annual events such as Opera in The Channon and The Channon Music Bowl.
The village also has a celebrated art gallery and is serviced by a general store, post office, service station, a tavern, and sporting facilities. There is a public school within the village boundaries and a bus service to take children to other schools at Lismore.
The Channon connects to the communities of Dunoon, Keerrong, Modanville, Tuntable Creek, Koonorigan, Coffee Camp, Nimbin, Whian Whian, Tullera, and Lismore.
